| For UCLA, last year (you need to check because this could change), you needed a 680 on the SAT Writing to place out of the writing course requirement. Check with UCLA if this continues to be the case. What are you going to major in? Look and see which AP classes will give you credit with a high enough score. I don't recommend taking 4 AP classes junior year because the grades are critical for college applications. Also, you want to devote some time on other things (extra curriculars) which will help your application. Which AP did you take soph. year? Try to take something in another subject area which interests you.Don't take anything unless you really want to learn that subject. Make sure you fulfill the A-G requirements.
My son took 3 APs which was really max for his time because he did other things (community service, extra curriculars). |
