we felt the same way hornet, mocha and the others that just did not get the whole deferred, waitlist, and the decisions on who got in and who did not. it really put us off and it took all of the fun and excitement out of college admissions. s go accepted after being deferred but never quite felt the same about the school after the leftdown. i too feel it is a good school for the money and son loved it but there is something about the way you are accepted into much "better" schools but deferred here. good school but not that good. we are very happy with the change of plans and actually think it was a blessing that it worked out the way it did. and my s actually had the same type of bribe...going to a more expensive school that he can't take his car to. we offered the car with a "bought space" if he wanted to accept unc and he still said no, the whole deferred thing gives them a power over me that I don't want to give in to! |
