| Don't assume you're not going to get off the wait list, but I agree with you... I think it is good to be realistic now. The number of people who get off the wait list are always slim. I'm not trying to be a debbie downer, but I think it's time we get comfortable with where we've sent our deposits. Honestly, I used to come home everyday and religious check my emails and missed calls, and get stomach plunges whenever I saw that nothing has been sent, but now I'll check my email every once in a while and I don't care that Emory hasn't sent me anything. While I spent about three weeks spazzing and sending Emory portfolios and extra recs, it's completely out of my hands now.
And while I used to hate having people say this to me, college is what you make of it! I also suffered from jealousy when my friends all got into their top choices, and believe me I was *bitter*, but I've sort of let it ride out. I've ended up picking my safety school, but I'm not down in a funk about it. I have my moments, still, but I'm getting used the idea of going to UGA pretty quickly. |
