If her SAT scores are at or above 2250 (750 each part) I suggest she consider Scripps and apply by the Nov 1st deadline to try for the 1/2 tuition JES scholarship.
Over 500 students apply for it and they have about 100 finalists come out in Feb for a weekend and interviews.
My daughter is going to Scripps now but she also applied to Pomona, got waitlisted at Pomona. Her application year I saw a lot of people on CC get rejected or waitlisted at Pomona that you thought would have made it.
I would think coming from TN would give an edge over being a CA applicant at any of the Claremonts.
Daughter took 1 class at Pomona her Freshman year and is signed up for another this Fall.
