Walking into the village, its hard to believe its a college dorm. A few years ago when I first went into it, it still had that new smell, almost like a 5-star, freshly cleaned hotel room. If you're a business major, or don't mind the extra walk to the main quad or nursing school, and have the extra 2000 or so per semester, its unbeatable. Air conditioning, kitchen, breakfast nook/bar thing, DOUBLE sized beds (none of that twin XL stuff), and large rooms, the Village is almost too good to be true. People I know who have lived there have loved it. Leutner/Wade commons is a short walk away too. Whether you're on the meal plan or not, its very nice.

Tippet/Staley are on southside, so they're about 10 minutes closer to the main quad/nursing/med school than the Village. That means: 9:30 class? you can leave at 9:15 and be early. They're older, and the individual rooms are more traditional "dorm" sized at 8 or 9x10. Twin XL beds. Your common room is also your kitchen, so there is less shared space for large couches and tables or whatnot. The furniture is nice, but definitely dorm furniture. I lived in the underclassman counterpart to Tippet/Staley and enjoyed it. The rooms are on the tiny side, but are very livable for one person. The common area is not very large but workable. I don't know how it would be with a kitchen though.

Being personally frugal and a physics major, I'd pick the southside dorms, but I'm also not living in case housing this year, and living in a house with 3 other guys from the swim team.

I'm not much help as far as true "insiders" go, but I hope that gives a bit of an idea.
