| At some point during my past two years at Princeton, my dad (an alum himself) came to visit. As we wandered through the junior slums and Blair Arch came into view, I mentioned that it was too bad that, after one lives in such a beautiful place for months at a time, one no longer notices the beauty. My dad smiled and said "I never took it for granted. Not once. Even my senior year I would look around constantly and think 'I can't believe how lucky I am to live here.'" I felt almost ashamed. How can anyone lucky enough to go to a really great and beautiful school like Princeton take it for granted like I have?
Thank you for this post. Here's to not taking it for granted. |
