I don't think asians have a more difficult time. Where did this idea originate? Certainly not at the UCs such as Berkeley, UCLA, which are over 40% Asian.
|
Do you think it was always 40%?
Both UCB and Stanford have admitted to and apologized for admissions practices which were biased against Asian-Am applicants.
For instance, during a 3-5 period, the % of AA students at Stanford remained about the SAME while the no. of AA had increased significantly.
It’s no coincidence that the % of AAs at Stanford has increased significantly since the mid-late ‘90’s.

Do you mean private schools like the Ivies and other Top 20? If so, everyone seems to think their ethnic group would be shafted, because so few of any group get in.
|
So how do you explain Jews who make up 1.5% of the college-age pop. and 26% of the Ivy student body?
That’s “over-representation” by a factor of
17.
AAs, in contrast, are “over-represented” by a factor of
3.

Anyway, just having fun here, but I think it would be fun for an asian applicant to play AGAINST type, and be the leader of a grundge band, be completely neurotic, distrust authority, and be a comedian in a night club

Yeah, there aren’t Asian grundge bands (much less bands in general), comedians, etc. (Hint – most of these types don’t aspire to go to the Ivies, much less any top college).
And Asians (well, immigrants) tend not to trust authority.
