We changed the grading scale one year ago, because of the new Quebec education reform. We had ABCD system before, but now, we have a 12345 system, where:

60% (minimum passing grade)- 3
68%- 3+
76%- 4
84%- 4+
92%- 5
100%- 5+

The average grades are about 70%. 5's are considered A's, 4's B's, ect... Though, this year, they gave us our real percentages as final grades. They show us how much we had in each of the "competencies" and they calculate the final grade with how much they count. But there's usually only one student in the class that gets a 95% or more as a final grade. But most of our grade is our final exam. Exemple, my Bio final counted for about 80% of our final grade, because they don't add up your semester grades to get an average. We don't have any honors or AP classes here, so they don't weigh. Weird grading scale I know *sigh*...
