| My daughter attended two years ago and is now a rising sophomore at Amherst. I can recall the wait in learning whether she was accepted or not. Please be patient. Some students learn of their acceptances before others (we're in California and some kids in New York heard before my daughter so she was sure she wasn't accepted). She did get accepted and this trip resulted in her deciding to attend Amherst. It's a big deal if you get accepted to the Diversity Open House because it means Amherst is really interested in your application (and is willing to pay your way to see the campus). We had already visited the campus but it was in the summer when school was not in session. It makes a big difference to live in the dorm, meet current students, sit in classes and see the town of Amherst when all of the college students are around. Good luck to all of you. Amherst is awesome! |
