- Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: I think my Boys State Governorship really clinched it. Theres only one a year. Also I had some extracurricular leadership that probably made me stand out. I didn't just paly sports but I was a captain in a lot of them and Boys State helped that too.
What I tried to show in my application/interview/essay/recs was my match potential. I did my best to "fit" what MIT wanted in a student, but I didn't do it JUST to fit MIT, they were thigns taht are true about me that I tried to show them to the best that I could. I showed them that I'm a good student, but that I've gone through failures. In my interview i explained why I wanted to go to MIT and what it would mean to me but that I'm also a normal kid. In the explain what you like to do for fun section, i didnt talk about research or anything, I said I like to hang out with my friends. Be yourself, show that you match Good luck! |
