Sorry this is a little late, but here goes. Accepted Stats:- SAT:2330 (800 CR, 770 M, 760 W)
- SAT II: Chemistry: 800, Math IIC: 770
- ACT: N/A
- GPA: weighted, 4.588 (out of 4.8)
- Rank: 1/361
- Other Tests (AMC, AP, IB): AP US History: 4, AP Chemistry: 5
Subjective- Essays: Excellent essays. I think these are what got me in. I chose to write about the "Describe where you come from" prompt, and my English teacher said it was really cute. It also conveyed why I wanted to be an engineer.
- Teacher Recs: One I read, it was decent, above average. The other one, I didn't read, but my teacher said it was long and well written.
- Counselor Rec: Counselor barely talks to me. It was one of those generic template ones that all students get.
- Supplementary Material: I wrote the "what have you created" essay about band. It was a creative essay, not the formal type. I mainly used it to convey my passion for music.
- Hook(recruited athlete, legacy, Nobel Prize): No hooks, I'm pretty normal.
Personal- Location: Suburbia, NJ
- High School Type: Public
- Ethnicity: Asian
- Gender: Female
- Applied for Financial Aid: Yes
Other- Extracurriculars: Marching Band, NJ Science League, Envirothon Club, Track, Ultimate Frisbee, Piano.
- Awards: State placement for Envirothon, two NJ Science League plaques, awards my marching band has won.
- Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: I'm just really really excited. Normal people DO get into MIT! Don't loose hope, everyone.
