- Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: My son would really like to have been accepted. I am in awe at the qualifications of both accepted and deferred candidates posting here. I just don't believe that these qualifications are all that common and I suspect that many of the deferred candidates posting here will get good news in the Spring -- from MIT or somewhere better. My son's deferral notice mentioned providing mid term grade reports which will be available in January. His interim grades this semester look quite promising so I hope those boost his chances in the next round.
