I didn't know the fee was waived at Carleton if you applied online! I was 99.9% positive I would apply there online anyway, but that definitely helps.
And, as others have said, don't just apply somewhere because it's free to do so. Apply to these schools as safeties, sure, but make sure that they're safeties that you'd actually attend if need be. Applying to a school you don't like just because you can is stupid.
