Dear lottastrikes : Something that always intrigues us in these posts is that the essay and recommendation letter are always "very strong". When folks post asking about their chances, how would they know that their essays are "strong" unless they have seen many other essays competing in the same space? But we digress.

You have obviously seen other threads that read like yours. Top ten percent, check (barely!). SAT I scores acceptable at the midpoint, check. ACT score, somewhat more marginal, but check. SAT II scores, slightly below marginal in the 600s for BC. Sports, check (although not much detail). Activities, some, check. Music and arts, missing. Honor societies and academic awards, missing.

Seems that you are right on the midpoint for BC overall - based on the scores for last year's class. Therefore, I am not sure that BC would be able to give you an immediate thumbs-up for an early application. Would be interested in hearing from others if they believe that an application nearly matching the overall midpoint has a better chance in EA or RD. (My guess would have been RD, but I want to hear other views.)

Again, some of this might actually depend on the possible depressed number of applications this year given the financial crisis which many folks might not be fully factoring into collegiate plans.
