I know im not an NYU student (yet lol) but I live in nyc in gramercy so I think I can safely say NYU is definitely in a safe area. You'll see some homeless people around (which personally I hate b/c im paranoid about that stuff) but overall it's totally fine. This is just my personal thing, but if you have to take the subway ALONE after 1030 at night, I would take a cab.Except on the weekends. Most people think this is ridiculous, but im a petite girl aka prime target lol.
