So it's like I said.. it could be Joy Joy or salt in a wound.
All I know is that my son forwent being recruited at a number of other schools simply to apply ed to D. Although both coaches said they'd love to see him walk on if he gets in on his own, they could easily be offering platitudes because no skin off their backs. Teacher recs: 1 is a D graduate (and a dean) and the other rarely writes them and actually offered to write his... so, I am thinking those ought to be great. Still.. he didn't do so well on the SAT I's comparatively and since you have to send all scores even when you maybe just want to send SAT II's is kind of bad. Took those suckers 3 times and went up every time across the board, but still. ACT's took once and pretty much aced them well enough to not take them again. I guess you just don't know what they consider "most imp" but they def can't just take high test scores and recruited athletes ED cause overall that might make for a relatively dysfunctional class (no offense to either side). Then again, it's Dartmouth.. .they can do whatever they want!!
I just know it will be hugely disappointing for him and frankly, that he hasn't put his heart into other applications yet is concerning. Given he might be semi-depressed come the 15th, this makes me VERY nervous.
