meh, i hate chances posts. honestly, at a place like williams, of course you need good grades and scores (and you're val, with relatively high scores), but the essays matter SO MUCH. i know one admissions officer who says that she will put aside most everything else if your personal statement just wows her (and vice versa -- if you're a valedictorian with a 2400 SAT with a zillion extracurriculars and your writing does nothing for her, she won't fight for you). i have a math score of 610 and have been told regardless that my readers all gave me a rating that says "we really want this girl." so just focus on that at this point.
