Hi, Justin. I heard this term in reference to recruited athletes from high-end academic schools, but I'm not sure exactly what it means. I know it has something to do with admissions preference. The "likely" letters in the Ivy League practically ensure admissions to athletes so they may not be swayed by other schools with early or automatic admission while the Ivy applicant/athlete awaits the March or April announcements from the Ivy school.
BTW, do you do campus tours? My son has recently begun doing them, and he really likes it.
