  • Volunteer/Community service: Various things related to the swim team, church stuff, and library book sales
  • Summer Activities: Work, swim practices, and travel.
  • Essays: My common app essay was good, the other was a little weak and probably cliche.
  • Teacher Recommendation: One was great, the other good.
  • Counselor Rec: Excellent, he knew me very well.
  • Additional Rec: None.
  • Interview: I thought it went well...
Other
  • Applied for Financial Aid?: Y
  • Intended Major: History
  • State (if domestic applicant): Oklahoma
  • Country (if international applicant):
  • School Type: Large public
  • Ethnicity: White
  • Gender: Female
  • Income Bracket:
  • Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none.
Reflection
  • Strengths: Essay, and being from Oklahoma, I thought my lower tests scores would be okay.
  • Weaknesses: Test scores, obviously.
  • Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I expected it. My scores are low, and my essays weren't great enough to stand out.
  • Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted at McGill, NYU, Rochester, BC, William and Mary. Waitlisted at Cornell. Rejected at Dartmouth.
General Comments:I'm moving on! I'm sure I'll be happy wherever I end up. I really did love Yale, though.
