Tennis - Bears Blank Merchant Marine 9-0
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/5/09)--Coast Guard won every set and cruised to a 9-0 win over rival Merchant Marine 9-0 in a non-conference match.
Greg Mitchell (#1), Chris Pappe (#2), Tim Ozimek (#3), Anthony Foss (#4), Matt Faha (#5) and Craig Johnson (#6) all won singles matches for the Bears.
Mitchell and Nick Martin (#1), Pappe and Wesley Figaro (#2) and Cody Isaacson and Vince Falco (#3) won doubles matches.
Coast Guard now trails Merchant Marine 6-5 in the race for the Superintendent's Trophy, which the Bears have never lost.
