waves -- being greek or not really isnt that big of a deal. there are plenty of non greek parties and even the greek ones most of the time its just like any other party (you dont need to be greek). also - ive never even heard of someone being called a "random" except on this site, so dont worry about that.
yankee -- its true that the out of staters do hang together on the weekend. most of my friends are from out of state (i am too). it isnt like on the weekend you are sitting in your room alone, its just that there is a lot less to do than on a campus that has a lot of people there for the weekend.
