lafayette has a better engineering program. hands down, undergrad engineering is better than colgate. BUT colgate is a higher-ranked, more selective school. employers (and grad schools) in the future will take this into consideration, especially if they don't know much about schools (employers, not grad schools obviously) and will therefore have the name recognition for colgate but probably won't know that engineering at lafayette is so rigorous. also, it's not like colgate's engineering department is low or uncompetitive. quite the contrary, it's a very decent program. sorry, but it's going to definitely be a tough decision for you. keep us here at cc posted!
