CLARIFICATION

Just want to remind everyone to keep the following in mind as those NASS selections come out:

1. There are many factors in the decision as to who gets selected to NASS. Geography has a lot to do with it- as does your MOC district. It may prove easier to get an invitation from a state in the mid-west, than from a state on the east coast where USNA is better known. Also, the USNA looks for applicants from MOC districts where few apply to the academy, in order to stir interest.

2. NASS can be a 2-way sword. Do well, and it will be noted. Do poorly, and that will be noted too. You need to keep that in mind, and more importantly, you need to go prepared to do your best. Get physically prepared starting now, if you have not already done so. There is a lot of physical stuff, including lots and lots of running- so get a pair of running shoes and start running now.

3. Around 60% of the eventual appointees to the USNA will NOT have attended NASS. Some who do attend NASS may even decide USNA is not a good fit for them.

4. The message here is that this is not the end of the road by any means!! NOT AT ALL!!! If you opt to not pursue your application based on a "no go" to NASS it would be a big mistake!
