This is very true. It represents a fundamental shift from what we see and do in America.

I've seen 90+ year old grandmas with paralyzing strokes being sent to the ICU so that "everything that could be done should be done" to keep them alive. These things would not exist under universal healthcare and I'm not sure we could handle this transition.
