I think everyone is making more of a big deal about the company information than needs to be. I highly doubt that USNA will re-assign everyone to a new company. It used to be that a letter was mailed 1-2 weeks before I-Day that gave out the companies. Knowing other people in your company isn't really going to gain you any advantage.

The bigger concern, as mentioned, is putting information from the intranet out onto a public domain. The intranet is FOUO and technically, it could be considered CONFIDENTIAL. Information and Operational Security (INFOSEC/OPSEC) are a big deal in the real Navy.

Sounds like a good training topic during Plebe Summer.
