From my understanding, Aggie Assurance only covers tuition and not fees, books, etc. It makes sure you have enough grants/scholarships to cover tuition. So, if you got a $2,000 Pell Grant per semester, you're guaranteed ~$2,400 in other grants to cover the rest of tuition. I was really surprised at how poor A&M's aid package was compared to other schools.

When I was in the financial aid office last month, they weren't even aware transfers were eligible for Aggie Assurance. They pulled out a binder that had the same info available on the website and referenced that. After verifying, they said the provost will go back through each financial aid file and change the distribution of loans/grants for those eligible for AA. I'm going to stop back in the financial aid office during my NSC to see what's going on.
