Well aware that not all SO are girls-
tidbit- it was a shortcut to all the politically-correct "he/she" quantifiers in the post - figured most would "get" that.

Ours is dating a great girl as well.
Dated a disaster before her, and another great girl before that one.
Who knows how many more great girls are in his future before he decides on "the" girl.
Hope my daughter sheds her SO and moves on.
