I also think you don't get what it's like for an adult who has financial responsibilities and household management responsibilities that you simply don't have.
And honestly, I don't see why she should be all that interested in your cooking other than you've learned how to cook. I found a lot of those cooking threads incredibly tedious and overworking -- stick some chicken in an oven already and call it a day. If cooking doesn't interest her, so what?
