I believe more and more Christian young people are seeing the wisdom of waiting.
--
I believe more and more Christian young people are engaging in sexual activities at younger ages. I go to a southern baptist church that teaches that every letter of the Bible in its original language is intentionally and divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. We are said to be one of the most, if not the most, conservative church in the Southern Baptist Convention. Furthermore any kind of sexual activity - whether it be masturbation or vaginal sex is lust at best and is some sort of sin in the eyes of God. Of the 10 people that I'm close enough to to inquire their sexual activity, myself included, 5 have had vaginal sex, 4 have engaged in mutual masturbation and/or oral sex and one is completely nonsexual - she hasn't even masturbated before.
All of these people are aged 17 to 19. I think sexual sin is a huge problem for christian teens and is growing, if anything.
As far as what counts as "sex" this varies from Christian to Christian. I think the main reason, from my limited survey with my friends, they don't have vaginal sex is not for moral reasons but for fear of pregnancy.
