Applying for scholarships can be just as burdensome as applying for college. Make sure you do a thorough job on the latter. There's essentially two types of scholarships: need-based and merit-based (although some are a combination of the two). I applied for a couple of private scholarships separate from the schools I was applying to senior year - and got one - a four year ROTC scholarship.

It's not too late to start now but the deadlines will likely occur throughout the fall and winter and it will take a lot of research to likely find some decent funds. I have two things to say: 1) do not pay any money to be considered for a scholarship and 2) do not pay for a scholarship search service.

As far as specific scholarships there's all kinds for all sorts of things... You just have to do your research.
