needle, yes you can get extra attention...like petko says, depends on your cadre. during jack's we got it pretty bad. but it was funny, so it was ok.
to the rest, though, don't worry about it at this point. i'd send white envelopes for the rest of basic. my friends did that, then at the end of basic, they sent me a package with all sorts of bright colors, confetti and the whole nine yards (it was my birthday too
)
moral of the story though, don't worry about it cuz there's nothing you can do.
