Yes, I believe I had all 4 removed, back in the beginning of high school. They knock you out for the surgery, so you're fairly groggy for 1-2 hours after they finish. I don't recall the pain medication being too bad, the worst part is you can barely open your mouth, so you have to resort to drinking smoothies or carefully spooning in applesauce, lol. I remember just wanting to lay down and watch tv, so maybe it does alter your thinking a bit, but not to the point where you wouldn't be capable of writing coherently.
