The super-competitive colleges welcome visits but don't require them in terms of evaluating you as an applicant. Basically, they know that they admissions are so desired that it doesn't matter the applicant's level of "interest" so no advantage is given whatsoever. Visit if it's not too burdensome and you'll find it informative. Don't visit to give yourself a "boost".
