Well, you can't apply to any school, if you can't afford it.
It would be perfect if you can attend at an school that fits academicly AND you can afford.
But as the financial situation of many really good students shows, this isn't the case, especially in times of the recession.
American Ears often don't need to hear the sound of financial aid as many schools are need-blind for them.
For us internationals, this isn't the case.
