Well, to give you my own real experience of how SparkNotes tests compare to the actual collegeboard test:
1st SparkNotes test:
600
Open notes
2nd SparkNotes test:
580
Open notes
3rd SparkNotes test:
560
No notes
This was because I was not used to the time frame, and so I usually took 2-3 hours to do practice tests in collegeboard's and princetonreview's book. The only real chemistry knowledge I obtained was from reading princetonreview; everything regarding chemistry before then was a blur, because I learned it in 10th grade(12th grader now), and our teacher decided it'd be funny to teach his own sort of chemistry and not one standardized via the book. Plus, I lost all my chem notes prior to then.
3 days or so after my 3rd SparkNotes test, I got a 730 on chemistry SAT in oct of this year, and this was omitting most of the chemical balancing ones too.
