| You Have a Good Chance....
Hi!
I'm a freshman at Middlebury and based on what you wrote, I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting into Middlebury.
The only thing I would recommend is to make sure you don't focus too much on how many extracurriculars you have and to focus on the few that are really important to you (in your essay). The essay is 100% the most important part of your application to Midd.
Also, what makes you unique? (rhetorical) Focus on that. It seems like everyone at Middlebury has something really really cool they did in high school. I wrote my high schools annual comedy show and have done three years of Hepatitis research at big hospitals around Chicago (where I'm from). To give you some other examples, there is a professional whistler, a GQ model, a very famous european actor, and a world renown violinist in the freshman class alone.
To go along with that, our class has representation from 42 states. Being from Utah will DEFINITELY help your chances. Midd loves diversity (the fact that your parents are both immigrants will help to an enormous extent as well.)
You have fantastic scores and grades and I don't see anything that would lower your chances of getting into Midd. However, it is a total crap shoot and sometimes totally qualified people get the short end of the stick. If you stand out (which I have no doubt you will) you will have a great chance at getting into Midd. That being said, if you know anyone who has graduated from Midd or has any connections, USE THEM. Everyone seems to know someone here who didn't "pull strings" but definitely nudged the admissions officers to give your application an extra look.
I wish you the best of luck throughout high school and keep up the good grades! Hopefully I'll see you at Midd within the next few years!
