Barron's success at fund-raising

President Barron has raised over a hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) in contributions and pledges in the 11 months he was in office in 2010. For this he was awarded $100,000 bonus. Of his $395,000 salary, he already donated $25,000 back to the FSU Foundation, and likely will give part of the bonus back.

He is ready to launch an unprecedented $1 billion dollar campaign. Donations were up 45% this year, in a year that saw philanthropy significantly down nationwide. The board of trustees felt his work was an "unbelievable accomplishment."

The article is in the Tallahassee Democrat, which I can read for free on my iphone app but cannot read it online (you have to pay to access) nor can I link it or cut and paste from the app (grrrrrrr).

FSU will likely have the info on their website soon, and I will link it then. FSU is going places. It takes money and a large endowment to do so. President Barron has the academic background and the fund-raising ability to do it. Jimbo Fisher's successes are not hurting anything either.
