Thanks eadad for all the information. I knew a majority of the students came from the Chicago suburbs so, now that you brought it to my attention, it makes sense that traveling to Chicago would be no big deal. Chicago definitely has more to offer that St. Louis and Pittsburgh, but both of the cities have neat little pockets to explore, other colleges and college hangouts, and good sports.

I have direct non-stop flights to Tampa on Airtran from Milwaukee, and Southwest to St. Louis and Pittsburgh, but it is true that Chicago has two airports that are a great back-ups when traveling so far away. Although, there's less snow in Pittsburgh and St. Louis, so less chance of delays and cancellations. Airtran between Tampa and Milwaukee offer very good rates which is a plus.

As for the whether, I know it's going to be freezing!!! But the good thing is that I get relief because I get to go to sunny Florida over Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break -- I'm sure I'll have lots of friends visiting then!!! Thanks for the layering tip! I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe. I'm actually looking forward to having change in seasons and playing in snow. Sunny and HOT can get very boring!

I'm really looking forward to visiting next weekend and staying over with a student. This should really give me a better idea of life at Marquette. It will also be nice to see the campus without 2 feet of snow covering it. Marquette is hosting a trolley tour through the city on Monday so that will give me a good feel of Milwaukee.

Thanks again for all the input eadad and newsdrms - it has been very helpful.
