If you submitted your initial FAFSA on time, you should have your place held in line for the funding that goes with your initial SAR. Submitting the actual taxes at tax time in April has never been a problem for people I have known at various UCs. Some friends are verified every year, some not at all, but it is really no big deal. They are not suspicious of you, they are just following the rules to verify a certain percentage of applicants.
