Surely, a building does not reflect the strength of anything. Why don't you check the backgrounds of the faculty of, for instance, the GW chemistry and physics departments.
I think you'll be impressed.
Also, you being interested in neuroscience, I am sure you are aware that GW's med school is the 2nd most difficult to get into in the U.S. with a <3% acceptance rate?
I say GW has great science & engineering departments, notwithstanding all the opportunities and contacts the students can establish in Washington, D.C. even before they graduate!
