Instead of just enlisting, why not apply NROTC or do the normal civilian route and OCS? Your number one goal should be a commission as a Naval Officer. If you do not get into Annapolis, then why don't you try other routes? At the end of NROTC program, OCS, and USNA you will be the same Ensign in the Navy. In NROTC or civilian college alone you can still reapply to USNA. Plus, with NROTC you will have another nominating source available to you. Reapplying prior enlisted in a lot more difficult. Your number one goal should be a commission as a Naval Officer no matter the route taken. I am not trying to imply that it isn't your number one goal. If you want to be an officer then NROTC and OCS or reapplying after a year of college may be better than reapplying prior enlisted.
