Key words -- "for him." Not everyone is concerned with living near the Row. When I was an UG, I wanted to be as far away from the Row as possible for obvious reasons.

If you don't mind noise, lots of foot traffic and crowded streets, then I guess living by the Row is OK. But if you want the option of living in a quiet place, don't live near the Row. Besides, you can always walk/bike or take the tram/Cruiser to the Row while having the luxury of living away from all the hubbub.

Also, I don't want any incoming freshman to think the Row is the be all/end all of having a social life at USC. The best parties I went to were non-Greek parties off the Row!
