Sometimes you just have to chuckle at these doctors. You lost significant weight, got stronger, and improved your blood chemistry significantly, but your doctor "would prefer" that follow a completely different diet. Doh. It's amazing that it doesn't occur to her that maybe your diet is working! The research on the impact of low carb on lipid profiles is consistent and widespread.
I listened to a recent interview with Gary Taubes and I think he's got it absolutely right. The whole low-fat diet thing is so completely embedded in the medical community now that this generation of doctors simply will not be able to accept anything else. It will take a generational change and a young cohort of doctors exposed to today's research to see a change.
