The other way you can do it is to plug in the numbers into each equation and see what works.
(0,100) so x=0, y=100. Plugging them into the equations...Bummer - A, B, C, D, E are all true

(1,99)
Only A and B are true
99=100-1^2
99=100-1

(2, 96)
We only have to look at A and B and only A is true so that must be the answer.
96=100-2^2
(96 doesn't equal 100-2)
