Don't retake it. Just submit your ACT score, provided you took it with writing. Cornell wants either SAT or ACT. If you didn't then I would suggest retaking to bring up the writing. Considering that Cornell only accepts ACT scores with the writing portion, I highly doubt that they don't look at that section of the SAT during admissions.
