| Hi, I am a senior at CMU in the music theatre program. Coming out of CMU you're going to to be a strong actor who can sing and dance. A lot of the MT grads go on to do not only musical theatre, but film and television as well. We take 4 years of ballet, 3 years of jazz, and three years of tap. We take four years of acting and 4 years of voice and speech in addition to MANY other classes and crew. We take many classes with the actors which is great because we are held to the same standard they are and it is great to mix it up. It is a fantastic yet grueling program and I am glad I have spent four years there. In three weeks I am going with my class to NYC for our east coast showcase and in May we go to LA for the west coast showcase. Last year everyone was signed to an agent from these showcases, with many of them getting jobs. We'll see what happens this year! Please let me know if you have any specific quesions! |
