I think many people who have complained about the abundance of items listed are taking the list at its literal subject heading "What to Bring."
A whole lot of confusion would have been avoided if the original poster had titled the list "A to Z: What You Will/Might Need in College."
Then again, most people understood that to be its general meaning in the first place. The posters saying "All I brought was... and I survived" or "I can't pack that much..." haven't quite understood the intent of the original post, I think... Most people did, though. |
