Let's say you are 20 years old, and your mom is 40. Let's also say you watch a rerunning 24 hour show for 20 years, and your mom watched the same show for 40 years. It is extremely likely your mom will be more knowledgeable about the show (down to what second has tear in an image). Your mom has seen the world for 40 years, and you've seen it for 20. Sure there are ridiculous mothers out there, but they lived much longer. A mother can even be a prostitute and have more wisdom than her child.
