Just because someone has experienced living doesn't mean that they've learned from it. People have an amazing ability to let life's lessons pass them by.
I think that the thing that made me realize just how many unwise "adults" there are in the world was going out and working on a daily basis with them. There are some wise ones, and there are some not-so-wise ones. And I usually find that age isn't the determining factor. Sure, given time, we hope that people will mature and become wiser, but I don't know that there's a necessary correlation. |
