I'm a Political Science major from VA and I wanted to attend an HBCU. I got tired of being in a predominantly white school (I don't hate white people) and wanted to be around other intelligent driven black students. I'm used to being the only black person in most of my classes and it can be quite annoying/uncomfortable, especially during certain topic discussions. I'm really looking into working in the International Relations field and D.C. is a great place to start with the many embassies located there. It's too bad the UN is NYC though. The students at Howard seem very social and there also appear to be a lot of events throughout the year. Also HOMECOMING. I don't want college to be anything like high school; I want to become more involved and a lot more ambitious at attacking things that I want to pursue.
